Our people


The founders of New North Partners are Graham McWilliam and Robert Fraser, who have a proven track record of developing and delivering communications strategies, managing high-profile reputational issues, and providing counsel at CEO and Board level. Before starting the advisory firm in 2017, they led the corporate affairs and communications function of Sky plc (formerly BSkyB), Europe’s largest media and entertainment company.

 

GRAHAM MCWILLIAM

Graham McWilliam has thirty years of experience in strategy and communications in the technology, media and sports industries, both as a consultant and in senior executive roles at Sky and the BBC. He was Sky’s Group Corporate Affairs Director for seven years, overseeing external and internal communications, policy and public affairs and the company’s award-winning brand and social impact initiatives, including Sky Rainforest Rescue, Sky Academy and Sky’s partnership with British Cycling. He has also been Chairman of Team Sky, the professional cycling team, Deputy Head of Sky News, Head of Television Strategy at the BBC and a Trustee of the Royal Television Society.

ROBERT FRASER

Robert Fraser has over twenty-five years of experience in communications, leading major corporate and consumer PR campaigns, crisis response and media engagement, and authoring numerous speeches and publications. He was Sky’s Director of External Communications for five years. Before that, he held a variety of senior roles in corporate communications, having started his career as editor of a trade publication.
